Henry-Senachwine extended their winning streak to six on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 10-2 in the process. They put the hurt on the Marquette Crusaders with a sharp 8-2 win. The Mallards might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

As for Marquette, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since April 18, 2024.

For Marquette's part, they got a good showing from Savanah Erickson, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Erickson has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Marquette saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kelsey Cuchra, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Henry-Senachwine and Marquette should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Mallards will take on Fieldcrest at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (157 vs. 521). The timing is sure in Henry-Senachwine's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Knights have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. Meanwhile, Marquette (ranked 89th) will meet St. Bede (ranked 262nd) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
