Recap: Taylor Ducks vs. Caldwell Hornets

If the Taylor Ducks were feeling good off their 76-54 takedown of the Giddings Buffaloes last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Taylor was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 66-65 to Caldwell. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Taylor lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Treos Richardson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Richardson hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Eli Laurence, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Taylor's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-17. As for Caldwell, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 16-16 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taylor will face off against Smithville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Taylor is facing Smithville at the right time seeing as Smithville is stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Caldwell, they will head out on the road to take on Giddings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Caldwell is coming into the matchup with three straight wins on the road, so Giddings is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
