Volleyball Recap: Rock Port Blue Jays vs. Plattsburg Tigers
With a playoff game on the line, Rock Port rose to the challenge on Thursday. They came out on top against the Plattsburg Tigers by a score of 3-1. Winning may never get old, but the Blue Jays sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-19, 18-25, 25-22.
Audrie Meyerkorth paced Rock Port's offense, picking up 13 kills. Meyerkorth got some help from
Addison Maifeld and her 40 assists.
Braylyn Wood controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Despite the loss, Plattsburg saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mattie Dohle had eight digs and three aces. Dohle is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served three or more in the last three games she's played.
Rock Port is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 16-14-2 record this season. As for Plattsburg, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 20-11-2 record.
Rock Port wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Santa Fe on the 2nd. Plattsburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
