Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Smithville's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Smithville won the last time they faced Caldwell and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Smithville Tigers came out on top against the Caldwell Hornets by a score of 53-41. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 524th, while the Hornets are ranked 1076th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Smithville has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season. As for Caldwell, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-17 record this season.

Smithville will face off against Navasota at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Navasota will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Smithville surely won't give up without a fight. As for Caldwell, they will challenge La Grange at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
