Softball Recap: Gulliver Prep Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Gulliver Prep's offense. They came up short against the Palmer Trinity Falcons on Tuesday, falling 8-0. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Raiders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Gulliver Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jenna Perez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Perez is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

Gulliver Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Palmer Trinity, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gulliver Prep is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will square off against Somerset Academy South Homestead at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Somerset Academy South Homestead knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Gulliver Prep likes a good challenge. As for Palmer Trinity, they are taking a road trip to challenge Key West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Palmer Trinity is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
