Basketball Game Preview: Union Titans vs. St. Mary's Academy Belles

The Union Titans and the St. Mary's Academy Belles will round out the year against one another at at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Union knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully St. Mary's Academy likes a good challenge.

Union is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Washington's top teams: Davis, who was ranked second at the time (Union was ranked 15th). Union was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 74-73 to Davis. The Titans' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's Academy waltzed into their contest on December 7th with two straight wins... but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 65-36 win over the Pumas. The Belles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 23 points or more this season.

St. Mary's Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Union, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
