While Rancho Cotate's victory against Analy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Tigers on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.

Madisyn Guinn tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Leila Figoni, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Jessica Wilmes was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Rancho Cotate's record is now 7-8. As for Analy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.
