Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Lowell

Lowell entered their tilt with Terra Nova on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 6-2. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Tigers two weeks ago, they had to take a 10-0 defeat.

Kaylee Kline made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing six bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those six stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Lowell let Katherine Chow and Aja Saraf run wild. Chow went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI, while Saraf scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Tiffany Huang, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Lowell's record is now 4-2. As for Terra Nova, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Lowell Cardinals duke it out with Galileo Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Terra Nova, they will challenge Menlo-Atherton at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
