Basketball Game Preview: Wildwood Wildcats vs. Keystone Heights Indians

Having just played yesterday, the Wildwood Wildcats will get right back to it and host the Keystone Heights Indians at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wildwood has four straight wins, Keystone Heights has 13 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Wildwood is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Seven Rivers Christian: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Wildwood blew Seven Rivers Christian out of the water with a 75-38 final score. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Wildwood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Demarius Knight out in front who went 5 for 7 en route to 12 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Harrison, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points along with eight assists and three steals.

Wildwood was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Keystone Heights was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 49-48 to Baldwin.

Wildwood will have to keep a close watch on Michael Petty and Cooper Barry, a pair of players who had a big impact on Keystone Heights' prior game. Petty shot 4-for-7 from long range and dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Barry posted ten points and six boards. The dominant performance gave Petty a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jamari Turner, who had six points.

Wildwood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Keystone Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.
