Baseball Recap: Alexander Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Alexander can now relate to. They came up short against the Wheelersburg Pirates on Wednesday, falling 10-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 5-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2015.

Alexander has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Wheelersburg, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-6.

Alexander does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wheelersburg, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-3 loss against Portsmouth on the 26th.
