Basketball Recap: Hamilton Takes a Loss

Hamilton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 62-33 defeat at the hands of the Lakota East Thunderhawks. While losing is never fun, the Big Blue can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 560th, while the Thunderhawks are ranked 191st).

Brooke Asher was the offensive standout of the game as she went 6 of 11 on her way to 15 points. What's more, she also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Parker Straub, who posted six points and three steals.

Hamilton's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Lakota East, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hamilton will host Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lakota East, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Oak Hills at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
