Catalina Foothills waltzed into their match on Monday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Vista Grande Spartans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-4 last Friday.

Bryce Weege spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on seven hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Catalina Foothills' victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brady Jeong, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Cooper Kruk was another, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Catalina Foothills pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Vista Grande, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Catalina Foothills will face off against Casa Grande at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Vista Grande, they will challenge Maricopa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
