Soccer Game Preview: Sterling vs. Sycamore

Sterling hasn't had much luck against Sycamore recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Golden Warriors will head out to take on the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. Sterling will be strutting in after a win while Sycamore will be coming in after a defeat.

Sterling is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Streator/Woodland. The win was some much needed relief for Sterling as it spelled an end to their 11-match losing streak.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Sycamore was a bit more limited in their match on Monday. They came up short against Geneva, falling 8-0.

Sycamore's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Sterling, their victory bumped their record up to 4-21.

Sterling couldn't quite get it done against Sycamore in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Golden Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
