Baseball Recap: Franklin Heights Find Success

Franklin Heights's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They never let the Harvest Prep Warriors get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won three games by 15 runs or more so far this season.

Jake Holman made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. He has become a key player for Franklin Heights: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3-1 otherwise.

In other batting news, Antwan Steward and Garrett Miller did most of the damage at the plate: Steward scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Miller scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Franklin Heights is undefeated when Miller posts two or more runs, but 0-3-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Webster, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Franklin Heights was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win got Franklin Heights back to even at 3-3-1. As for Harvest Prep, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
