Recap: South Cougars vs. Kapaun Mt. Carmel Crusaders
This season hasn't been kind to The South Cougars, who are still winless after their ninth game. They took a serious blow against Kapaun Mt. Carmel on Friday, falling 63-7. South was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-7.
Landon Putman threw for 152 yards on ten of 26 attempts. Dawson Dooley was his top target, picking up 105 receiving yards.
South's loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 7.8 points per game. As for Kapaun Mt. Carmel, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
South does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kapaun Mt. Carmel will take on Great Bend at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Great Bend's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three games.
