Soccer Game Preview: Varina vs. Powhatan

The Varina Blue Devils will challenge the Powhatan Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Varina's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Varina fell victim to Petersburg and their airtight defense two weeks ago. They came up short against the Crimson Wave, falling 8-0.

Powhatan hadn't beaten Manchester on the road since April 21, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them last Thursday. The Indians narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Lancers 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Powhatan.

Varina's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Powhatan, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
