Basketball Recap: Newcomers Comes Up Short

Newcomers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the Long Island City Bulldogs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Newcomers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-43 on December 2nd.

Newcomers' loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Long Island City, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newcomers will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Newtown at 5:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Long Island City will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Metropolitan at 4:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
