Volleyball Recap: Franklin Academy Takes a Loss

If Franklin Academy was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Horeb Christian on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell 3-1 to the Don Soffer Aventura Barracuda on Wednesday. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Barracuda earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-22, 24-26, 25-22.

When it comes to explaining why Franklin Academy lost, don't look at Enrique Fernadez. Despite the final result, he had 42 digs. With that strong performance, Fernadez is now averaging an impressive 11.7 digs per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Miguel Villacis, who had 15 digs.

Don Soffer Aventura found their leader in freshman Marcelo Caffarena, who had 11 digs and four assists.

Franklin Academy's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-8. As for Don Soffer Aventura, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-12.

As of now, neither Franklin Academy nor the Barracuda have any future games scheduled.
