Baseball Game Preview: Western Harnett Eagles vs. Terry Sanford Bulldogs

Western Harnett is 1-7 against Terry Sanford since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Western Harnett will look to defend their home field against Terry Sanford at 7:00 p.m.

Western Harnett came up short against Overhills on Friday, falling 9-3.

Meanwhile, Terry Sanford came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 10-5 win over the Trojans.

Jack Reaves tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mason Walker, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Gibson Bray, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Terry Sanford pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Western Harnett, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Western Harnett couldn't quite get it done against Terry Sanford in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 14-10. Can Western Harnett avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
