Volleyball Game Preview: Mitchell Marauders vs. Elizabeth Cardinals

Mitchell is 0-10 against Elizabeth since April of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Marauders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Thursday, Mitchell came up short against Thomas MacLaren School and fell 3-1.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 19-25, 25-22, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Falcon by a score of 3-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Cardinals in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost four in a row.

Elizabeth started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 27-25, 27-25, 25-18.

Elizabeth's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Mitchell, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Mitchell might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Elizabeth in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Marauders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
