Basketball Recap: Hiram Takes a Loss

Hiram lost against Allatoona back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hiram Hornets fell 74-62 to the Allatoona Buccaneers. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 335th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 138th).

This is the second loss in a row for Hiram and nudges their season record down to 8-13. As for Allatoona, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hiram won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cedartown at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Allatoona, they will head out on the road to square off against Cass at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Allatoona will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
