Basketball Recap: Marshall Drops Season-High Score on Bravo

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marshall). They blew past the Bravo Knights 86-56 on Wednesday. Given the Barristers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 537th, while the Knights are ranked 1254th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bravo lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Julian Ojeda, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Benjamin Murillo, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 14 points.

Marshall has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.5 points per game. As for Bravo, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Marshall will be playing in front of their home fans against Franklin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Marshall's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matches. As for Bravo, they are taking a road trip to take on Lincoln at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Bravo surely won't give up without a fight.
