Football Recap: Forrest's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

Forrest was the 28-7 winner over East Hickman County when they last played one another back in November of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Rockets fell 44-34 to the Eagles on Thursday. The loss was the Rockets' first of the season.

Despite the defeat, Forrest saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Quincy Mitchell rushed for 121 yards and three scores on only ten carries, and also picked up 74 receiving yards. Mitchell is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 121 every time he's taken the field this season.

Micah Godfrey was nothing short of spectacular for East Hickman County: he rushed for 282 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Godfrey showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 60 yards. Drake Cole was in the mix as well, providing East Hickman County with two TDs.

Having lost for the first time this season, Forrest fell to 3-1. As for East Hickman County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Forrest has already played their next match, a 38-6 win against Fayetteville on the 19th. As for East Hickman County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 21-14 loss against Waverly Central on the 19th.
