Baseball Game Preview: Ferguson Falcons vs. Calvary Christian Academy Eagles

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Ferguson Falcons face off against Calvary Christian Academy Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ferguson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

Last Friday, Ferguson was able to grind out a solid win over Keys Gate, taking the game 7-3. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won four in a row.

Jose Rijo looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Alain Marquez was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. He has become a key player for Ferguson: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7-1 otherwise. Justin Rodriguez was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Calvary Christian Academy beat Somerset Academy 4-1 on Monday.

Calvary Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Carlos Lugo, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Rosenthal, who went 2-for-4 with one home run.

Calvary Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-6-3. As for Ferguson, they now have a winning record of 8-7-1.
