Softball Recap: Henrietta Takes a Loss

Henrietta had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 22-6 to make it four. They fell just short of the Coahoma Bulldogs by a score of 1-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Bearcats were not able to get on the board.

As for Coahoma, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 29-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 10.5 runs thus far.

For Coahoma's part, the result came thanks to Hannah Wells's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks. Wells has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mia Clemmer was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

While Henrietta had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
