Football Recap: Xander Prosper and Alexandre Samson Lead the Defense for Asheville School (Independent) Win

Asheville School (Independent) won the last time they faced Covenant Day and Marvyn Larozar did his part to make sure it happened again. The Blues breezed past the Lions to the tune of 41-0 on Friday thanks in part to Larozar, who picked up 207 receiving yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 57 yards and a pair of scores. His longest reception was for an incredible 89 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Asheville School (Independent)'s defense and their six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Xander Prosper and Alexandre Samson, who racked up all six sacks between them. Samson is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made eight or more in each of the last five games he's played.

Asheville School (Independent)'s record now sits at 4-2-1. As for Covenant Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Coming up, Asheville School (Independent) will be playing in front of their home fans against SouthLake Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blues are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Covenant Day, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on High Point Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st.
