Recap: Winona Tigers vs. Amanda Elzy Panthers
With a playoff game on the line, the Winona Tigers rose to the challenge on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Panthers 49-22 on the road. Winona's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Chase Richardson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 135 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, and also throwing for 66 yards and two touchdowns on only six passes. Richardson has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Troylando Eden, who gained 91 total yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Amanda Elzy still got an impressive performance from Jevarion Glover, who threw for 254 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Winona's win bumped their record up to 14-0. As for Amanda Elzy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Winona will be staying on the road on December 2nd to face off against Noxubee County at 7:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Noxubee County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Amanda Elzy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
