Basketball Recap: Crosspoint Christian Takes a Loss

Crosspoint Christian lost against The Fulton back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Crosspoint Christian took a 32-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of The Fulton.

Despite the loss, Crosspoint Christian still got an impressive performance from Beka Petry, who posted eight points in addition to 14 boards and three steals. Petry is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played.

Even though they lost, Crosspoint Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. This was only their eighth loss (out of ten games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead The Fulton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lily Leonard, who almost dropped a triple-double on 15 points, 13 boards, and nine blocks. That makes it four consecutive games in which Leonard has scored at least a third of The Fulton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Laya Racanelli, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 18 rebounds.

Crosspoint Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for The Fulton, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Crosspoint Christian and The Fulton's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Crosspoint Christian will square off against Westwood Baptist Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, a team that's only allowed 25 points per game. Meanwhile, The Fulton and Mississippi Valley Christian (who has only given up 26 points per game) will meet at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
