The Independence Patriots will face off against the Hough Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Independence comes in on six and Hough on ten.

Independence is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They really took it to Mount Tabor for the full four quarters, racking up a 44-0 victory. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Independence relied on the efforts of Justin Little, who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and Jayden Jones, who gained 120 total yards and three touchdowns. Jones is also crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season.

Independence was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 258 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 222 rushing yards in 11 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hough). They blew past South Iredell 59-0 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won ten matches by 26 points or more so far this season.

Ralph (Trey) Blakeney continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 201 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Ashawd Wynn was in the mix as well, providing Hough with two touchdowns.

Hough didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Morgan Linton. Hough got some further help from Karmel Quick: he picked up two sacks and made four total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Independence's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.6 points. As for Hough, their record is now 10-1.

We should be in store for an exciting game as Independence and Hough have no problem gaining yardage. Independence has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 483.7 total yards per game. However, it's not like Hough struggles in that department as they've been averaging 354.4. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.

Independence came up short against Hough in their previous meeting back in November of 2014, falling 42-29. Thankfully for Independence, Bishop Ford (who rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
