Soccer Game Preview: Normal University vs. Glenwood

The Normal University Pioneers will venture away from home to square off against the Glenwood Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Normal University's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Monday, Normal University didn't have quite enough to beat Peoria Christian and fell 3-2. That's two games in a row now that Normal University have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Glenwood). They put the hurt on MacArthur with a sharp 11-1 win on Thursday. Glenwood might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting MacArthur from everywhere, as eight different players booted in a goal. McKenzie Doe led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by himself.

Glenwood pushed their record up to 12-3-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those three contests. As for Normal University, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9-3 record this season.
