Alcoa (Tenn.) captured the lead in the fourth quarter and held on for a 31-28 victory over
Christian Academy of Knoxville (Knoxville, Tenn.) on Saturday. The Tornadoes captured the lead for good when it ran for a touchdown.
The Tornadoes led 24-15 at halftime, but the Warriors recaptured the lead on a touchdown catch by
Davis Howell with 11:00 remaining in the fourth. Alcoa finally took the lead for good as it ran for a touchdown with 6:00 to go in the fourth quarter.
AHS saw its 9-point halftime lead fall to three entering the fourth.
The loss snapped Christian Academy of Knoxville's 9-game winning streak.
Josh Smith made a difference for CAK. The senior wide receiver caught one touchdown. He has now scored 10 touchdowns on the season.
The Tornadoes got revenge for last year's 24-14 loss to the Knoxville school with the victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for Christian Academy of Knoxville, which notched a 56-41 victory over LaVergne in its previous outing.
