Baseball Game Preview: Dwight Morrow Maroon Raiders vs. Paramus Spartans

The Dwight Morrow Maroon Raiders will head out to take on the Paramus Spartans at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Paramus took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Dwight Morrow, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with 11 defeats in a row, Dwight Morrow turned things around against Ridgefield Memorial on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Royals, sneaking past 10-9. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Maroon Raiders' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Jaden Done was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out nine over 4.1 innings pitched. Dwight Morrow is 2-1 when Done allows one or fewer earned runs, but 1-11 otherwise. Done was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Adonis Rosario and Angel Garcia did most of the damage at the plate: Rosario got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs, while Garcia got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three runs gave Rosario a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eric Perez, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Dwight Morrow always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Don Bosco Prep hit Paramus with a four-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans came up short against the Ironmen, falling 12-2. The Spartans have struggled against the Ironmen recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Paramus' loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Dwight Morrow, their record now sits at 3-12.

Dwight Morrow couldn't quite get it done against Paramus when the teams last played back in April of 2025 as they fell 13-8. Can the Maroon Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
