Baseball Recap: Loogootee Comes Up Short

Loogootee lost against Mitchell back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lions fell 7-4 to the Bluejackets. The Lions' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Loogootee's record now sits at 2-13. As for Mitchell, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Loogootee will take on Tecumseh in a tournament on Saturday. The Lions are facing the Braves at the right time seeing as the Braves are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Mitchell, they will take on Crawford County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wolfpack have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.05 runs per game on average), something the Bluejackets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
