The East Hampton Bellringers and the Brookfield Bobcats will round out the year against one another at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday at. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (East Hampton is ranked ninth, while Brookfield is ranked tenth).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 72-33, which was the final score in East Hampton's tilt against Morgan on Friday.
Meanwhile, Brookfield had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 69-54 victory over Abbott RVT. Brookfield's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Shane Weber was his usual excellent self, scoring 50 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ryan Horton, who scored ten points along with five assists.
East Hampton's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-2. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Brookfield, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
East Hampton came up short against Brookfield when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 68-61. Can East Hampton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
