Recap: Eastern Comets vs. Oak Hill Golden Eagles
The Eastern Comets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 39-23 to Oak Hill. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Eastern of the 34-17 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Oak Hill found their leader in underclassman Landri Hardman, who scored eight points along with four steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Hardman posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Lydia Trexler, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Eastern's defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-16. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.6 points per game. As for Oak Hill, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Eastern will be playing in front of their home fans against Peru at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Peru focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Thursday. As for Oak Hill, they will take on Bellmont at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
