Basketball Recap: Splendora Comes Up Short

Splendora was the 40-31 winner over Pasadena when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Splendora Wildcats were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 46-45 to the Pasadena Eagles. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 14-8 in the first quarter.

Emily De La Garza went supernova for Pasadena, going 9 for 22 on her way to 22 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. De La Garza has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alazay Olivares, who posted ten points and eight boards.

Splendora's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Pasadena, their win bumped their record up to 7-16.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Splendora Wildcats take on the Crosby Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pasadena, they will challenge Kingwood Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
