Basketball Recap: Lewistown Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Lewistown extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Abby Wiegand. The Lewistown Indians blew past the West Prairie Cyclones 75-29 on Thursday thanks to Wiegand, who went 9-for-14 en route to 28 points in addition to eight steals and seven assists. Lewistown is 4-1 when Wiegand posts five or more steals, but 9-16 otherwise.

The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Parker, who posted five points. What's more, she also posted three boards, the most she's had since back in December of 2024.

Lewistown pushed their record up to 13-17 with the win, which was their third straight at home. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to offensive boards: they averaged an imposing 17.33 offensive rebounds in those games compared to only 17.33 in the others. As for West Prairie, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-24.

Lewistown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 37-28 victory against Cuba/Spoon River Valley on the 15th. As for West Prairie, they have also already played their next game, a 64-33 win against Seymour on the 15th.
