Baseball Game Preview: Los Angeles CES Unicorns vs. Venice Gondoliers

Los Angeles CES hasn't had much luck against Venice recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Unicorns are taking a road trip to square off against the Gondoliers at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Los Angeles CES sitting on six straight wins and Venice on 14.

If Los Angeles CES beats Venice with six runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Unicorns walked away with a 6-2 victory over Fairfax on Friday. Surprisingly, this marked the Unicorns' sixth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Cai Bloom-Furedi was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Loyola typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Venice proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Cubs 12-2. The Gondoliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by seven runs or more this season.

Los Angeles CES' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Venice, their record is now 21-1.

Los Angeles CES might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Venice in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Unicorns avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
