Preview: Jersey vs. Hillcrest
If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Hillcrest. Jersey and Hillcrest go head to head on Saturday at 3:00 PM in their first playoff match of the year. Hillcrest know how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Jersey like a good challenge.
Jersey were able to grind out a solid victory over Columbia last Friday, winning 36-28. Among those leading the charge for Jersey was senior Kurt Hall, who rushed for 127 yards and 3 touchdowns. Hall has now scored at least one touchdown in the past three games.
Meanwhile, Hillcrest put the finishing touches on their 7th blowout victory of the season. Everything came up roses for them against Bremen as the squad secured a 43-6 win. Hillcrest are sitting pretty right now with nine consecutive wins.
Their wins bumped Hillcrest to 9-0 and Jersey to 5-4. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Jersey and Hillcrest will really light up the scoreboard.
