Baseball Recap: West Side Eagles vs. Taylor Tigers

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, West Side couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Taylor Tigers by a score of 8-6 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since April 23rd.

Max Gipson put in work no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Gipson wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ty Hewitt, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
