Basketball Game Preview: Altoona Mountain Lions vs. Chambersburg Trojans

The Altoona Mountain Lions will head out to challenge the Chambersburg Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Altoona is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

Altoona is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Carlisle on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Altoona had to suffer through a 71-43 loss at the hands of Carlisle. While losing is never fun, the Mountain Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 414th, while the Thundering Herd are ranked 86th).

Chambersburg has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 59-48 to Central Dauphin on Wednesday.

Altoona's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Chambersburg, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-4.

Altoona was dealt a bruising 61-32 loss at the hands of Chambersburg in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Altoona avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
