Baseball Recap: Geneva Triumphs

Geneva's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They never let the Holy Cross Lutheran Academy Crusaders onto the board and left with a 22-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Matty Siniki made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Siniki was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Geneva let Wyatt Strokes and Jeremiah Kavanah loose on the outfield. Strokes scored three runs while going 2-for-4, while Kavanah scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That's the most runs Kavanah has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Shaw, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Geneva hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.

Geneva now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Holy Cross Lutheran Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Geneva will challenge Lake Mary Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Holy Cross Lutheran Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Orlando Christian Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
