Volleyball Recap: Rio Vista Eagles vs. Italy Gladiators
After flying high against Itasca last Tuesday, Rio Vista came back down to earth. The Rio Vista Eagles came up short against the Italy Gladiators on Tuesday, falling 3-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Eagles haven't been shut out since back in September.
Rio Vista was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Italy work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-20, 25-14.
Landry Janek was nothing short of spectacular for Italy: she had seven kills, four digs, and three aces.
With the loss, Rio Vista broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-14. As for Italy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-15 record this season.
As of now, neither Rio Vista nor Italy have any future games scheduled.
