Volleyball Recap: Hayden Kok and Julia Blom Secure Win for Lincoln

Lincoln won the last time they faced Roosevelt and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Patriots blew past the Rough Riders 3-0. The game was the first time the Patriots have beaten the Rough Riders on their court since September 1, 2022.

Lincoln walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-11, 25-20, 25-16.

Leading Lincoln to victory were Julia Blom and Hayden Kok. Blom had 13 digs and four assists, while Kok had nine digs and two aces. Blom has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last nine times she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Lincoln was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in nine consecutive contests.

Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Roosevelt, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-22.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Lincoln will face off against rival Rapid City Central at 6:30 p.m. on November 7. Meanwhile, Roosevelt is set to challenge their familiar foe Aberdeen Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
