Baseball Game Preview: Thatcher Eagles vs. ALA - Ironwood Warriors

The Thatcher Eagles will challenge the ALA - Ironwood Warriors at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Thatcher's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so ALA - Ironwood's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

While Thatcher's win against Show Low wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Thatcher won by a run and slipped past Show Low 4-3. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Jett Howard, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Traekon ?TK? Kempton also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, ALA - Ironwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Palo Verde.

ALA - Ironwood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liam Wood, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Thatcher now has a winning record of 3-2. As for ALA - Ironwood, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything went Thatcher's way against ALA - Ironwood in their previous matchup back in April of 2022, as Thatcher made off with an 11-5 win. Will Thatcher repeat their success, or does ALA - Ironwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
