If Burwell wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Anselmo-Merna, they should've done a better job of containing Dane Duryea. The Coyotes put the hurt on the Longhorns with a sharp 58-35 victory on Friday thanks in part to Duryea, who rushed for 296 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 75 yards and one TD. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 64 yards.

The win made it two in a row for Anselmo-Merna and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 35.5 points. As for Burwell, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Anselmo-Merna didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-27 victory against Twin Loup on the 10th. As for Burwell, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 50-6 win against Chambers/Wheeler Central on the 10th.
