Softball Recap: Silas Comes Up Short

If Silas was riding high fresh off their 20-6 takedown of Lincoln on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rams came up short against the Central Kitsap Cougars on Wednesday, falling 17-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-4 on April 3rd.

Tatum Butterfield was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Silas' loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Central Kitsap, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Silas will take on Mount Tahoma at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams are facing the T-Birds at the right time seeing as the T-Birds are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Central Kitsap, they will challenge Klahowya at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
