Baseball Recap: Chardon Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Chardon barely beat Bay the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hilltoppers put the hurt on the Rockets with a sharp 8-1 win on Saturday. The Hilltoppers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rockets, too.

The team relied heavily on Justin Smith, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Dominic Sintic was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Chardon is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Bay, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chardon will be taking part in a tournament against Lakeside at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bay, they will challenge Rocky River at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
