Preview: Davis Darts vs. Weber Warriors
Davis is 10-0 against Weber since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Davis Darts will head out on the road to challenge the Weber Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Davis is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
On Tuesday, Davis faced Farmington in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Davis came out on top against Farmington by a score of 65-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Coleman Atwater was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Caleb Taylor was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Weber has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 82-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of Layton on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Friday (68), Weber still had to take the loss.
Davis has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Weber, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 12-5.
Davis didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Weber when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 58-52 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Davis since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
