Softball Recap: Harper Longhorns vs. Wimberley Texans
Harper was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 9-1 defeat at the hands of the Wimberley Texans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Harper of the 15-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2016.
For Wimberley's part, Grace Strobel made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Strobel was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other pitching news, Charlotte Woodward looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
Back at the plate, Reese Adams was excellent, going 2-for-4 with a triple, a run, and an RBI.
Harper's defeat dropped their record down to 13-15-1. As for Wimberley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-12.
Harper does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wimberley, they will head out on the road to square off against Gonzales at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Gonzales is coming into the game with three straight victories at home, so Wimberley will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
